Timid joins Japan's Drynage Orchestra for "Forbidden Fruit"
June 25, 2019
TOKYO - June 25, 2019 - Timid joins Japan's Drynage Orchestra which consists of the producer GG and Steez & Grow-D of the group Garahavi for "Forbidden Fruit". The music video was shot on the streets of Meguro in Tokyo Japan. Lyrically, the international collaboration consists of emcees Timid, Steez, and Grow-D delivering their performances in their native languages; Timid in English and the Garahavi group members each in Japanese. Producer GG concocts a dark sample based boom bap style beat as the vehicle for the multilingual offering.
Garahavi takes their name from the classic Hip Hop Edo G song "I Gotta Have It" which when said in Japanese sounds like Garahavi. Coincidently, Timid linked with the group when he and Edo G were touring Japan.
Lyric excerpt (Timid):
You want a welcome, well come correct
With all due respect and you won't get checked
I, read between lines from what I see between eyes
and I despise guys that demean me with lies
