New York, New York – (August 6, 2018) – Recording Artist MŌZ Jenkins, better known as just MŌZ has released his latest single “Wildfire” immediately climbing the iTunes Top 100 after only 14 days of the initial release. Signed by legendary producer Rodney Jenkins at Seventy 7/Music/BMG, MŌZ quickly became the “new artist to watch.” With over a million streams combined on Spotify alone, MŌZ is positioned to take his powerful message of positivity and love to fans worldwide.
MŌZ began his music career at the age of 12. Surrounded by a supportive mother and a family of 8 brothers and 3 sisters, Jenkins always had a voice despite his large family. His voice which is often described as one of the most innovative in the music industry, quickly found its way attracting some of music’s most influential and successful artists and producers. At age 13 the singer/songwriter began playing piano and within months learned music production. From there he found his place in the rap music scene and quickly began writing for himself and others. His singing career took off with his earlier releases including “All the Way High” and “Summer Stories.”
“Music has always been my lifeline. As a young child, my family experienced much tragedy but music always pulled me through the hard times. At a very young age our house burned down, my ill father passed away and there seemed to be sadness all around me. But when I drew pictures and starting writing down words, music just came to me and it was therapeutic in many ways. After the fire someone donated a piano which sat in our living room. It was there I learned to play and create music without any professional training.
My mother used to come in and ask me to play for her. She always told me I was her Mozart. She didn’t know at the time that she was mine for reasons that may not have been so obvious!” – MŌZ
MŌZ started using his brother Ed’s equipment to start making beats which quickly lead to his studying under producer Rodney Jenkins, Timberland and others. He later started recording Pop and Electronic music and released his first single. His brother James often collaborates with MŌZ and is his guiding management partner day-to-day. Jenkins founded Push Play, Inc.
His latest release, “Wildfire” has a beat with a message, a simple unfailing message of love that is celebrated through song. Combined with words that bring about thoughts of hope, peace and love, “Wildfire” tells the story of a man who has a woman who sticks by his side becoming his strongest support through trials and tribulations and moments of despair which lead to hope. It feels like a victory.
“There is so much divisiveness in our world today. As cliché as it may sound I hope “Wildfire” does spread like wildfire so the message I want to portray through this single comes across to people that need it most” – MŌZ
Spotify continues to track well over a combined million plays for his singles “All the Way High,” and “Summer Stories.” MŌZ’s “Too Late” with DJ Asketa is set for release on September 21, 2018 via THRIVE. MŌZ has also placed the title track of “Me vs Frosty” on “Bad Santa 2” starring Billy Bob Thornton and placed “Catch Me When I Fall” in the trailer for the film “Let There Be Light.”
