Rich Homie Quan Signs To Motown Records/Capitol Music Group

Atlanta-based hip-hop recording artist Rich Homie Quan has signed with Motown Records/Capitol Muisc Group, it was announced today by label President Ethiopia Habtemariam. Quan is currently in the studio recording his first new music under the agreement, which will be released this spring.
According to Rich Homie Quan, "First and foremost I would like to Thank God for this amazing opportunity. I'm excited to be a part of a building that has such great history in music. I look forward to this new chapter in my life and giving my fans the best I have to offer."
According to Habtemariam, "I am excited that Rich Homie Quan is joining our next generation of artists here at Motown. He is an amazingly talented rapper, writer and performer, and I'm grateful to be partnering with him as he enters the next chapter of his career and continues his evolution as an artist."
Motown Senior Vice President of A&R Ezekiel "Zeke" Lewis, who was instrumental in bringing Quan to the label, said, "I am thrilled that Quan and his team decided to partner with us for the next phase of his promising career. Quan began his career in 2012, when the song "Differences" from his Still Going In mixtape began receiving attention in clubs and garnering millions of views online. In 2013, he was featured on two songs from Gucci Mane's album, Trap House 3, and toured with Trinidad James. In May of that year, The New York Times wrote that Quan was "part of Atlanta's rising generation of rappers who deliver lines with melody and heart, like singers on the verge of a breakdown. That same year, Rolling Stone magazine named Still Going In one of 2013's best mix tapes.
The second mix tape from Quan, I Promise I'll Never Stop Going In, was released in November 2013, supported by the single "Walk Thru," featuring Problem. "Type Of Way" from the Still Goin' In Reloaded mixtape was adopted as an anthem by the Michigan State Spartans football team, with Quan joining the team on the sidelines at the Rose Bowl in January 2014. That same year, Quan released "Lifestyle" with Rich Gang, which went platinum. Later that year, Quan was featured on YG's "My Nigga," which hit the top 20 on Billboard Magazine's Hot 100 chart. He was featured on the song "Extra" from B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, the second studio album from 2 Chainz, and was featured on the mixtape Rich Gang: The Tour Pt. 1. Quan's song, "Flex (Ooh, Ooh,Ooh)" and its music video were released in April 2015. He is featured on Dae Dae's 2016 song "Big Bankroll."
