Akil White aka Benji Buck$ pka Benji Buck$ was born in Danbury, CT on November the 6th 1992. After the passing of his father Joseph "Slow Joe" Johnson, a local legend, his family moved to Hopewell, VA. After a few months in Juvenile Detention he discovered a music program. It was at this moment the direction of his life changed forever. After being released form Juvie and discharged from DCF he was able to go on his own and pursue his dream of music.
He became apart of "Shut-em Down Ent.," a music group that soon gained a large local following. They would spend countless nights with no sleep doing nothing but recording with their laptop and microphone. Benji's aunt Teresa soon recognized his passion and natural talent and decided to not only invest, but also manage his career. Benji soon rotated among the local club circuit, paying his dues promoting and performing. With his popularity rising he was invited to perform in Minnesota, after the success of his first performance he was invited back again.
Striving to become the best, Benji released his hit record "Bang Bang" which caught the ears of many new fans as well as G-Unit's own Janay Saxon. She was amazed with his blunt delivery and sophisticated lyricism at just the young age of 19. She referred him to, what some might call, the Marketing Genius, Orlando Diesel. With Diesel becoming apart of the "Buck$ Campaign," Benji's music is being heard all around the country.
It's obvious that Benji's ability to adapt and prosper, has him on a fast track to fame and fortune, but where his road leads only time will tell.
