Central Florida Rapper Leegit Set to Release Mixtape Album 25/8
July 26, 2013

Lakeland, Fla.- He officially put his Polk County, Fla. stomping grounds on the map with last year’s runaway single “Badd.” He exploded online with more than a million hits of YouTube music videos like the booty-bouncing “Bend N’ Get It.” And he has been selling out shows all across the Sunshine State.

Now, central Florida’s latest superstar rapper Leegit finally gives the people what they’ve been waiting for with the upcoming release of his long-awaited album 25/8 on independent label Xcluii Music Group.

“The album is geared towards fans of good music who also like to have fun, dance and party,” says Leegit. “It’s basically a diary of my experiences over the past year- covering everything from love to balling, even to snakes in the grass.”

With a steamy hot Ver$atyle Beatz-produced lead single “Gyrate” steadily boiling over, Leegit will soon be as hot a commodity in the rest of the world as he is down South. Featuring notable indie Florida artists Tom G and Porsha Nichole (Keezone), 25/8 is Leegit’s first project with all-original music.

Born Levi Hicks, Leegit gained local fame by dancing and rapping at local athletic events and talent showcases. A multi-talented entertainer who can sing, rap and dance, he taught himself to rap in middle school after being challenged by a fellow student. Influenced by the styles of artists such as Kid Rock, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Outkast and Trick Daddy, Leegit soon developed a reputation for delivering his own jaw-dropping freestyles.

Recording his first songs in the fall of 2004, Leegit joined rap trio The Dime Boyz. But by 2009, Leegit began to record solo records. His singles “So Hot” and “GameTime” began to generate a buzz in the streets and online. His mixtapes iamleegit.com and TooXcluii became favorites in central Florida.

With the July 28 release of 25/8, Leegit continues his rise to dominance in domestically and internationally through 2013 and beyond. And he is kicking it off with a much-talked-about album release party on July 27 at Club Skye in Tampa and at nightspot Alligator Alley in Lakeland on August 2. This is just a continuation of a huge performance at the House of Blues in Orlando back in April.

Album will be available for Listen / Download on LeegitOfficial.com July 28
