Detroit Rap Legend Dice to Deliver his New Album Morfein on January 31st December 24, 2012 Legendary Detroit emcee Dice, also known as Monkey Joe, has blazed a trail in the Midwest rap game since he began his career in the early 1990's. Considered by some as the acid rap god, for his particularly unique brand of hip hop. Dice is undoubtedly, one of the most successful underground rappers to grace the mean streets of Detroit, Michigan. After a long awaited return, Dice is back and his new album collection promises to be even bigger than his highly rated 2008 release, Drug Abuse. In his seventh release Morfein, Dice continues his dark, lyrical celebration of the realities of Detroit street culture. Boasting banging tracks featuring Apt. 3, Timmi 2 Tymes, N.I.A. and hosted by Lt. Dan. Self Medicated Records will release, Morfein in stores January 31st, 2013.
The Morfein album, which is the first of a three album trilogy, paints a picture of ghetto life, drug dealing and the do what makes you feel good attitude that has made Dice's music still relevant in a evolving music industry. This can be heard in songs such as Weed Pills Powder, featuring label mate Timmi 2 Tymes and the agressive lyrical on slaught of Cocaine Supplier, featuring lifelong comrade Pervert Pastor. Through out the album, Dice delivers classical punchlines and brutal wordplay, compounded with humorous antics that give credence to why he still holds the neighborhoodshittalka title. Mostly produced by Monkey Joe himself, Morfein does feature production by up and coming inhouse producer Big Body B. First, of a three album collection called, Monkey Joe's Sick Tapez, the second release will be called, Destroyed In a Colored Environment, which will be released in the summer of 2013.
