R&B/Pop Songstress Lily Elise Drops Christmas Single "This Year"; All Proceeds Benefit Shelter Transport Animal Rescue Team
December 10, 2012
Los Angeles, CA, December 10, 2012 - R&B/Pop songstress Lily Elise released her first original holiday song, "This Year," today, December 10, 2012, through her Bandcamp page as a name-your-own-price purchase (http://lilyelise.bandcamp.com/track/this-year).
"'This Year' comes from a place of healing and getting back to what the holidays are really about, spending time with family and friends and giving back, so I hope it takes people there," said Elise.
The song "This Year" was written by Lily Elise and her good friend, singer and songwriter Annaliese Schiersch. It was recorded in Rolling Hills, CA, and produced by L.A. production duo the Underliners (Will Baldocchi and Rob Nagelhout).
As a result of the name-your-own-price option, fans may download the track for free by entering $0.00, or, if they feel inclined to donate, in true holiday spirit, all proceeds will be donated to the Shelter Transport Animal Rescue Team (S.T.A.R.T.) for Christmas (http://startrescue.org). S.T.A.R.T. is a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to addressing the issues of animal overpopulation by providing animal transports from high-kill shelters to rescue organizations where they are re-homed, and funding veterinary clinics in local communities to facilitate free spay and neuter services.
"S.T.A.R.T. is a great organization that saves dogs from death row at high-kill shelters in Los Angeles by transporting them to non-kill shelters," said Elise. "The organization cannot afford to do it without help, so I wanted to do this for them. Let's help give the pups a home for Christmas."
Lily Elise is an R&B/Pop singer originally from San Francisco, CA, and now resides in Los Angeles. She was a contestant on Season 1 of NBC's The Voice, where she was chosen by Christina Aguilera to join her team. Since The Voice, Lily has been in the studio, writing and recording for her solo album and for other major artists. Lily co-wrote 15-year-old Hungarian Idol winner Gigi Radic's first single, "Daydream," which is currently the #1 most played song on Hungarian radio and is available via iTunes. In addition, another song Lily co-wrote, "'Till the Morning," by Wilde Life feat. Lily Elise, will be released this winter.
