Los Angeles, CA, November 26, 2012 - Seattle-based hip-hop artist Eighty4 Fly recently released his music video for “Cool Kids” from his highly publicized album "Colors." (http://tinyurl.com/coc2dsz)

“Cool Kids” is the follow-up single to “Kush High” and the first to receive the visual treatment from Seattle expat Jon Augustavo. Shot in Las Vegas, Nevada, THE DJ BOOTH describes the video as “an effervescent blend of hip-hop and indie-pop, with WHP serving up a hip-swiveling beat reminiscent of MGMT’s Electric Feel … as the Seattle rhymesayer details his search for a woman fly enough to ride with him. Jon Jon Augustavo provides visuals to match the record’s eclectic vibe—from skate tricks and curbside Cee-lo matches to old-school Gameboys and dancing robots, there’s something to entertain just about every viewer.”

The album "Colors," which was released earlier this year, features 19 original tracks, with special guests AyeLogics, Neema, Nipsey Hussle and Royce The Choice. Production is supplied by SuperNova, Yorel, WHP, Tom Davis, Trixx, A Dot, Chemist, Ray Wonder, Versatyle, and Florida G.

"Colors" was inspired by a neurological condition called chromesthesia that causes a person to “see” sound in explosions of color. The mixtape/album translates its songs into colors using mood as the medium. Each track has its own-labeled color, starting off the project with an immediate curiosity as to what the colors stand for, but it’s easily depicted with each track, as the music on this project is a visual experience. Eighty4 Fly, aka Devon Talyor, was born and raised in Seattle. The budding MC’s first time in a real studio was at age 16, when he ended up in a booth with West Coast producer Funk Daddy (Sir Mix-a-Lot, E-40). However, after putting out a single project, Eighty4 Fly was incarcerated. Given a chance to reflect and reinvent his outlook on life and music, after his release he continued to rap, but it wasn’t his priority. That all changed in April 2010, when he changed his stage name to Eighty4 Fly and released a free eight-song EP titled "The Eighty4 Fly Project." Since then, he’s released "1st Class in Flyworld" (mixtape), "Flight 84" (mixtape), and most recently, "Colors." Listening to everything from The Fray to Crystal Castles, Eighty4 Fly doesn’t look to typical hip-hop influences. Eighty4 Fly doesn’t have one distinct sound, and if he can help it, he never will. Somehow, he evades limiting categorizations while striking a cohesive balance.

“… things are only looking up for this artist, all aboard “Flight Eighty4 Fly” as the city of Seattle has something to be excited about!” – TheNorthwest.com
