R&B group Special Request Featuring Rey T has announced the release of their latest single, “Badunkadunk,” and like all their tracks, it’s a high-energy, boisterous affair that will leave a lasting impression.

Reynard Thomas, aka Rey T, has a very distinct vocal presence that sets the group apart from their contemporaries. Backed up by Mark Hunter (aka Hunter) on guitar and keyboards, Gary Hunter (aka G Hunter) on keyboards, Robert Taylor (aka Rob) on bass, Dominic (aka Dom) on saxophone, clarinet, and horns, and Nelson Yee (aka Nels) on the drums, the band gives Thomas a lush backdrop to ply his lyrical talents.

With influences like Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Luther Vandross, and Prince, it’s easy to see the parallels between Special Request Featuring Rey T, and the best performers in R&B.

“Badunkadunk” is a bouncing, smoothly-executed paean, with a snappy jazz rhythm and airy keyboard melody that’s as catchy as it is enchanting.
