Chicago, IL (October 18, 2012) Chicago Music Magazine, LLC announces the launch of its Hip Hop coverage with the debut of south side John Boy and his newest single "Strong" on ChicagoMusicMagazine.com. John Boy is a Chicago born emcee that personifies the true essence of self expression and his newest single "Strong" is an example of just that. He enlisted veteran Chicago producer Prolyfic and together they created a powerful track that will be sure to resonate with hip hop fans and critics alike. John Boy is mentored and developed by Lupe Fiasco's 1st and 15th Productions, Inc. John Boy was introduced to Chicago Music Magazine by Hip Hop Tastemaker and 1st and 15th Productions, Inc. A&R, Jason Jroc Evans of Make a Mogul Entertainment.

ABOUT JOHN BOY: John Boy is a 22 year old emcee and is currently working on a debut untitled project. He is being guided under the mentorship of Charles "FREE CHILL" Patton, CEO of 1st & 15th Productions, Inc, the recording home for Chicago rap star Lupe Fiasco and R&B songstress Sarah Green. At press time, there is no release date for his debut.

John Boy South Side Chicago born emcee that personifies the true essence of self expression. Having lost his father to street violence, John Boy began expressing his thoughts, pain, and anger through music at the tender age of 9. He continued to write throughout his childhood and by his freshman year of high school he released his first project "School Dayz". The effort landed him at Clear Star Entertainment, under the management of Julius Little, and he began performing at local venues throughout the city of Chicago. After high school, John Boy took a brief hiatus from music and attended Columbia College to study music business management. In 2012 his uncle, Charles "FREE CHILL" Patton, took John Boy under his wing and he began working on a new project (untitled) that is scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2012.
