Florida-Based Hit Factory Collab Mindz Introduces Southern Songstress Novella With Bad Girl Anthem “I Can Be A Bitch”

Tampa, Fla.-Blazing across the state of Florida like a raging firestorm, R&B/Pop newcomer Novella has been heating up clubs and radio alike with her bubbling debut single “I Can Be A Bitch” featuring Florida boss Famous Kid Brick.

Produced and written by musical geniuses Sekay and Marlon Jean, the sassy bad girl anthem boasts an energetic party groove, sonic synthesizers and driving drums as the urban pop diva sings with sass about her quick-to-the-minute mood swings. “I Can Be A Bitch” is the first single to be released off of her forthcoming EP, I Am Novella, due early 2013.

“My music is fresh, fun, fashion. It’s eclectic and girl-empowering music,” explains Novella. “I'm not afraid to take risks. I stand out because I do me and I can do it better than anyone else can.”

Novella is the latest artist to blow from Florida hit factory Collab Mindz Productions. Established in 2001 by Frank “Sekay” Oliphant, the company has garnered gold accolades, been nominated for three Grammies and has cracked Billboard charts on several occasions with projects from Jaheim, J. Holiday and Charlie Wilson. And now Collab Mindz is setting fire with their sexy and seductive flamethrower Novella.

“In the music industry, you have to be smart and very tactical with every move you make,” says Novella. “And Collab Mindz has really taken the time to mold me and show me the ins and outs of this business.”

Born Devon Small in Largo, Fla., Novella knew that she wanted to be an artist since the first grade. She first took her talents seriously in high school as a member of female group Fynesse. Devon adopted the name Novella, Spanish for “soap opera” because “it best describes my crazy life,” she explains.

Unfortunately, the group was short lived and eventually broke up due to creative differences. But now with all of that behind her, Novella is on the verge of setting the world on fire with her scorching new single “I Can Be a Bitch” featuring Hussch Boy recording artist Famous Kid Brick.

And with proven music industry veterans like Producer Sekay (Collab Mindz) and Amber Craft of Urban Addiction Entertainment Group backing her, the only way to go is up. “There is never a dull moment with my music. It’s fun and a little eccentric,” Novella describes. “But most of all, I keep it interesting!”
