Hit Songwriter Lauren Evans Paves The Way For Indie Artists

Los Angeles, California – September 18, 2012 - Even though Lauren Evans has received 2 Emmy Nominations writing songs for NBC's Passions as well as appearing on many TV and film features such as Prince of Egypt, Bratz: The Animated Series and High School Musical, you probably don't know her by name. As an Indie Artist, Lauren has appeared on recordings with everyone from Luther Vandross and Ronald Isley to Barry Manilow and Usher. Although she did not write her recently released cover version of One Of Us, writing hits is a gift that Lauren clearly has. One of which was for season six American Idol winner Jordin Sparks entitled, One Step at a Time. She has done all of this without being signed as an artist or having a publishing deal.

After writing for years, this veteran songwriter is refocusing her energy on being an artist. Most songwriters find this transition to be difficult, but for Lauren it is the next step in her already diverse career. Currently in the studio finishing her debut album that will be released independently in February 2013 as well as a mixtape scheduled to release in October 2012, a buzz has already been created among industry insiders. VP of A&R at Universal Motown, Rex Rideout says, "The first time you hear her you feel like you’re listening to an angel, she will be successful beyond belief."

When asked how she has obtained success, she credits her faith in God and her work ethic. Anyone who spends more than 5 seconds with her will undoubtedly add her pleasing personality to the list. Lauren Evans' career shows any aspiring indie artist that being clear about your goals and consistently going after them pays off. The February release of her album can't come soon enough, until then we are blessed to have her cover version of One Of Us to tide us over.
