Emaculent "15 min. to E" August 1, 2012 Url: http://www.brightlifemusic.com/# Up and coming Hip-Hop artist, Emaculent, is dropping his debut album, 15 min. to E, through the music label Brightlife Music. And it certainly is an impressive introduction into the music world. It has all the ingredients you need for a classic hip-hop album, smooth flow, elevated rhythm, bumping bass, and of course, a song all about smoking weed.
Emaculent raps about some of your typical rapper motifs, his rise to the top, having lots of money, Et cetera. But he also has some really fun songs too (like Centerfold or Hater Song). Raps about stuck up girls, haters that keep him on his grind, drinking a lot (Whatchu Drinkin), and a song about all the different strains of weed he has smoked (the radio single Roll Up). In one song in particular, Long Run, Emaculent really bares his soul. He talks about the death of his father and how affected him and the 1980s plague that afflicted his mother (not sure if he is referring to the aids or crack epidemic). Emaculent also has a lot of guest artists throw down a quick sixteen or sing on most of the tracks, most notably E-40, Layzie Bone (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony), and Ray J.
Emaculent is definitely one you want to keep your eye on and his debut album 15 min. to E is well worth checking out. Only time will tell if he can stay afloat in this flooded hip-hop market, but as long as he keeps putting out quality work and teaming up with other talented artist, he should do fine.
