Marty Magz is an up and coming Hip-Hop artist targeting the Eastern European demographic, specifically the Albanian community. Magz was born in Flushing Queens, NY and raised in Metro-Detroit, Michigan. His music is uniquely situated, exhibiting multi-ethnic undertones. Magz has been writing and performing for the past five years, wielding a loyal fan base.

Q: Magz, having an Albanian background, how did you get started in Hip Hop?
A: My uncle was a dj for hot97 back in the early 90's. Since I was 4 years old, he was always video recording me rapping. After high school, I was in a group called "Mob Type" with a couple other Albanians, we all bucked up, got a studio.
Q: Hip Hop and music is universal. How big is hip-hop in the Albanian community?
A: Hip Hop is huge in our culture. Albanians are still young to this country. Back in the 80's and 90's Albanians were brought up from Detroit and New York. I personally don't know one Albanian who don't listen to hip hop. So, its big!!!

Q: You have a new video that just hit YouTube. Tell me about the theme for the video.
A: "Money Days"! I always hear people saying they hate Mondays. My concept is look at Monday as a Money Day. Have fun on the weekend, party up, and live it up. When it comes back to Monday, get up and grind. I don't care if your a dish washer, make something of yourself. Get that paper and stay positive!


Q: I see you are about to release a Mixtape. What's the concept behind this project?
A: "The Road to Myself" hosted by Miss Mimi from Shade45. I been through a lot to become the man I am today. A lot of stuff I don't like speaking about, but the mix tape is a preview and the album will be the movie.

Q: What are some other things we should look out for, from Marty Magz?
A: I will continue to release singles and videos constantly.

Q: Tell me something unique about Marty Magz that no one knows about you?
A: Yo, I'm a great actor. Hand me a script, I'll nail it!! lol, No but foreal, I got skills in acting.

Q: What's the two year plan for Magz in the music industry?
A: My producer Johnnie Blade and I are opening a production company, studio, videos etc in July 2012. So we plan to expand that part of the business. I hope to get picked up shortly. I'm definitely dropping a full blown album. That's the master plan!!

Q: How would you describe your style and sound?
A: I have my own style, I write from the heart. I speak 100% honesty. One thing, I don't listen to is radio.If a artist wants to come up, stay away from radio. When T-Pain came out with Autotune, every artist was on that tip. Drake filters his voice, now every artist wants to filter their voice.

Q: Any other things you want to let our readers and followers know about Marty Magz?
A: I used to have a cold heart. I been through it and changed to become a better person. The lessons I've learned, lets all have respect and love for one another. Let's move this world into a positive state. Help me spread the word to end hate, murder and racism..
