2012, Is turning out to be Jimell Clarke, better known as the ''artist'' Young Lye, year. This 16 year old talented young artist from the Bronx, New York is making an impact with his Stack Large movement. Only half way through 2012, Young Lye has already won several music competitions, has a huge following on Facebook, showing aggressive movement with his videos on YouTube and this is just a few of his accomplishments this year.


Recently, his mixtape ''STL'' VOL1 had thousands of downloads on sites like www.datpiff.com, and www.thatcrack.com, just to mention a few.. Young LYE has been a regular staple at Club Amazura queens n.y.c. ,Lue's nite club in Bronx,New York, Sullivan Hall, Madison Square Garden, B B Kings in New York City , College Tour in N.Y.-U.S.A. , Mingles Night Club (Bronx), Chrissies Night Club (New York) and the famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem.


In May of 2012, Lye's song "Shorty got me cuffin" was chosen by the music site Tunecore (www.tunecore.com) as one of the 25 tracks to be released on their compilation album for this summer. Make sure you go check that out.The same song, also won the MyMusicMylife.com's (www.mymusicmylife.com) Best Video and Best Song competition. Lye received over a 1/3 of the votes helping him to secure his winner's spot.

Growing up, Young Lye was fed a steady diet of Hip Hop , Dancehall, and Pop by his Jamaican father. His father, D. Clarke, a music producer who migrated from Jamaica in the late 70’s, believes his son has immense talent... “Since LYE was three, I saw his potential. He would sing along to DMX and Beenie Man and say that he wanted to be just like them. It was then that I decided to get back into producing and help him fulfill his dream of being an entertainer”--D. Clarke.



What makes Young Lye stand out from the rest? Is it the boyish charm, smooth lyrical flow, positive messages in his songs, or the strong support from his fans. The answer is, all of the above.
